A couple weeks ago I stumbled across this Boing Boing post that shows a lazy susan type table made out of old skateboard trucks. That would be a good use of old roller skates too! Here is a link to the designer's page.

I could see a redesigned version using quad skates...but it'd need a four-leg base to make good use of two pairs of skates!
